Mendeleev’s Periodic Table

1869 CE · Rusya · science

In 1869, the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev published the first widely accepted form of the periodic table, arranging the known chemical elements according to increasing atomic weights and recurring chemical properties.

Its most notable feature was that it left empty places for elements not yet discovered and predicted their properties in advance; with the confirmation of some of these predictions in subsequent years, the table became one of the fundamental tools of modern chemistry.
