This is the major battle considered to have taken place in 268 in the Balkans (most likely near Naissus, modern Niš, in present-day Serbia), between Roman forces and the Goths and allied tribes.

It is stated that the Roman side won an important victory, and that this success, associated with the reigns of Gallienus and his successor Claudius II, is regarded as a turning point in pushing back the Gothic invasions. After the victory, the emperor took the title 'Gothicus.'
